A seed or passphrase is a random string (24 words in Komodo’s case) that generates your private keys. One seed generates one set of keys (public and private) in Agama and BarterDEX.
Same seed will work with Agama, barterDEX and any other Komodo software like iguana. Same seed will always display same address.

Seeds in Lite Mode
When using lite mode you will be prompted to create a seed to login. This seed allows you to access funds across all compatible coins in Komodo’s wallet. However, you cannot generate more than one address with the seed.
Seeds in Native Mode
When using native mode you will not be prompted to create a seed. Instead you will generate a wallet.dat file. This file contains all the private-keys in your wallet. Therefore, you must back-up the wallet.dat file each time you make a transaction. The reason behind this is due to the daemon generating change addresses.
Note: Komodo uses a Non-deterministic wallet. In a non-deterministic wallet, each key is randomly generated on its own accord, and they are not seeded from a common key. Therefore, any backups of the wallet must store each and every single private key used as an address. It’s recommended to backup your wallet.dat file if you are using native each time you generate a change address.
